Unsaid Dowry

Is it necessary? yes But why? What if they don't ask for it? Some unsaid things are also important You had to take a loan for it With all the debt of the past, will you be able to finish all that?  yes... After selling all the things in this house?  Hmmm... I won't live a happy life with a sad father And the people? Their work is to say, Ours is to do the right thing To only give the sole jewel a father has, His daughter. A.V

Devotee

Image
Devotee It's inspiring how there's a world  more divine, more holy, more beautiful  then the world we live in It inspires us to do good deeds, just so we can be freed from this world and move towards the new journey, to the world  more divine, more holy, more beautifully, just so, we can become a part of it  just so we can see him with our soul, just so we can meet him and say, Jai Shree Krishna, while hands together in the air  with a tear and a smile.  A.V

Stairway to Heaven

Image
Stairway to Heaven  Two souls in the graveyard, telling stories of their lives— climbing the stairway to Heaven. They move with the sorrowful wind. All the money, all the objects— left behind, stranded. And all that's left now is regret... and love. A.V

Moment ( Rusty Old Benches)

Image
Rusty Old Benches These rusty old benches, have caused us pain and suffering. Some sharp edge would cut our flesh Some stiff corner would bump into us. They have made us fight for, the best bench. They have made a school, feel like school. A.V

Moment (October and November)

October and November  The slow pleasant wind neither too cold, nor too hot. All shades of green and red, with blooming flowers. Advancing festivals, and  an avalanche of memories. A.V

Some rupees on the right pocket, a cotton bag  on left  From home to shop, and back home. feels, familiarly lovely. A.V

The Abstractions of Rain

Image
The Abstractions of Rain Drizzles of rain. Showers of pain. Invisible. Flashes of thunder. Reminders of the past. Haunted. Gloomy skies. Depressed nights. Wet pillow. Cries of clouds. Sounds of irritation. Hurts. Rushing winds. Cold drizzles. Slaps. Unattended ponds. Shrieks of splash. Stranded. Mist of drench. Smog of negativity. Unclear.

The Angels of Rain

Image
The Angels of Rain “Look, look! There they are!” “Where?” “Over us—look there!” “Oh… rain’s coming?” “Yes, yes. The angels will make it rain.” “Hmm...” Why is it that one has tears rolling down her cheeks, and the other wears a big smile on his face? Why does one live in the past, buried in sorrow, while the other lives in the present, full of joy? Why does the rain sometimes feel... sad? It’s because— one is letting go of her burden, and the other is smiling for her— because she is healing. It’s because— one has been clinging to the past, grieving it, regretting it... while the other has learned to accept it— and now chooses to live fully in the present. And if you look closely, you’ll see it too: the joy hidden inside the rain. A.V

A seed, of friendship

Image
A seed, of friendship A seed planted, will it grow a beautiful tree or a thorny bush, don't know but, I hope for a gracious tree. O lord. Please  let our seed sprout O Keshav. Please guard our sapling against any bad omen. O Madhav. Please let it grow, even if growth  is as slow as bonsai, as, bonsais are also lovely.  A.V

Conversations (Collage, love, Flirting)

Conversations  Main college ke second year mein hoon. Aur aaj meri school ki ek dost— jiss ne ek saal ka drop leya tha aaj finally iss college mein admission le rahi hai. Thodi der ruk ke, usne bola— "Aafreen Sha," ek aise andaaz mein, jaise wo sab samj gaai ho "Achha... kis hostel se ho aap, Aafreen Sha?" Mainne apni shararat ko thoda aur aage badhaya. "Ji, Hostel No. G-5," usne bola, full attitude mein, "Aur kuch poochhna chahenge aap?" "Ha," main bola. "MerÄ« dost banogi?" " Khass wali... " Usne bas ek smile di. Waise wali—jo aankhon se daantti hai, par dil se maaf kar deti hai. Jaise keh rahi ho, ...

Take a small step

Image
Take a small step Every time a pandemic comes, we will unite our nations. Every time a calamity occurs, we will give others a hand. Every time a death occurs, we will prevent another. Every prayer will save a life, every effort will be cast upon. Every step will make an effect, every death will be counted. Everything will be seen,| every life will be saved. A.V

I'll wait

Image
I'll wait  If we are not meant to meet, If we are not meant to cross paths— Not in this life, nor in any life to come— Then we shall meet at the end of all things, where the divine ocean awaits— golden, endless. For we are only drops of that same sea. And I... I will wait. I will wait for you there. A.V

Moment (Little, Window, Covid)

keshav

Image
keshav  I am not what you think. I am not what you see. I am not what you’ve heard about me. I am nobody— and yet, I live in everybody. I am the quiet keeper of your choices, present in silence, visible in acts of kindness. You won’t find me in places, but I am everywhere. I help through your hands, I see through your eyes, I speak through your tongue, I walk through your steps. I can be everything to someone, or nothing to some. Some may deny me. Some may forget me. Some may call me by name. Others may call me a lie. But whatever the case... I will still love you. Still protect you. Still heal you. My dear child, you are more precious than you know. I do not force. I do not punish. I only guide. The choices are yours. The actions are yours. And the consequences— they are yours too. I have many names. I see what others cannot. I know what even you hide. I am not what you think. I am what you believe. I am what you believe in.  A.V

Unsaid, Unseen

Image
Unsaid, Unseen A pile of regrets like chains, A pile of secrets like soda bubbles. A pile of words waiting to be said, A pile of dairies filled with memories. A pile of threads waiting to reform, A pile of emotions weaved into words.  A.V

Conversations

Conversations  She: Why didn’t you come to school yesterday? He: Umm... I was out of town. I told you. She: Really? Then who was at the market yesterday— buying gifts for his friend’s birthday? He: I don’t know... Maybe you were hallucinating or something? She: [pulls out her phone] Oh really? Then who’s this? She shows him a picture—him, standing at the gift shop. A.V

HOWS AND HAVES

Image
HOWS AND HAVES Have you ever noticed the toxins living inside you? Have you ever noticed what others overlook? Have you ever noticed your own mind turning against you? Have you ever noticed a stone beating in place of your heart? How many times have you been stopped by timidity and shyness? How many times have you adored yourself—genuinely? How many times have you rehearsed your words in silence? How many times have you loved nature more than flesh and bone? Have crowds ever made you ache? Has loud music ever stirred anger instead of joy? Have you ever written a diary, just to speak where no one listens? Have you ever felt the warmth of hearts you knew you’d never touch? Have you ever kept a secret too sacred to name? And still, you wake, hoping one day the silence will speak back.  A.V
