Father?

Who is that person?
That everyone calls as father.
Who is he, that visits?
every couple of months.

What is a father?
are genes all that we inherit.
What about morals, ethics?
its fathers who teach them right?

The childhood is forgotten.
the time of awakening,
is spent in solitude, 
under an eye of Mother.

It's said, a chariot needs 2 wheels
to run. Then how do I grow up?
Responsible, punctual, and merry, or
greedy, carefree, and undisciplined?

Silence, is what clogs the air,
at his visit. 
"How are studies?" is all we talk.
And my grades speak on my behalf.

Now I ask, what is a father?
I don't know the feeling of a father.
There is respect, but affection is absent.
There is a father, but unknown to me.
